About Latitude Press

Latitude Press is now the official publishing imprint of the Silo Teachings Collection (STC), a non-profit literary trust.

Founded in 1992, Latitude Press has been dedicated to publishing the works of Silo and other authors who share the vision of a “universal human nation” emerging in our world. This pluralistic approach rests on unlocking the creativity inherent in the converging diversity across our planet, and the growing range of genres and works presented here reflects the vitality of this human current.

To ensure these works would be permanently available to the public, the Silo Teachings Collection was established in 2023. As part of this new non-profit structure, we continue our mission with all net income dedicated to preserving and disseminating these important works on humanism, nonviolence, and social change. 

Like all expressions of Silo’s Message and New Humanism, Latitude Press is a volunteer effort.

About Silo

Silo (1938-2010) was born and lived in Mendoza, Argentina, at the foot of the snow-capped Andes and far from the centers of power. Known as “the Sage of the Andes,” he was a prolific author, and in these times of crisis his teachings are inspiring a growing following around the world among those seeking a new spiritual path combining both personal and social transformation toward a “universal human nation.”  

Today the task of building a human and nonviolent world that corresponds to the aspirations of people becomes more urgent each day. With every area of existence in turmoil, no single genre encompasses the needed breadth. The books in this catalog include both fiction and nonfiction with the unifying thread that each title addresses some facet of the need to connect with our deepest aspirations and express the best within us in both individual and social life toward a “universal human nation.”

With titles from Silo (1938-2010), known as “the Sage of the Andes,” and other authors from around the world, these books bring international perspectives that are demonstrating a wide appeal to growing numbers of readers across our increasingly connected planet.

The book Silo’s Message consists of three parts: The Book, the Experience, and the Path. The Manual for Messengers consists of Formative Themes and Practices that are useful guides for personal change for those participating in Silo’s Message. In the brief work Commentaries on Silo's Message the author offers illuminating insights into key topics that can give deeper understanding of this profound and timely message.
